Biography
My name is Barbara Kimber, I’m married with a grown up daughter and
have lived in Covingham, Swindon for 18 years.
I’ve been a secretary/PA for all my working life and got to the point
where I wanted to do something different for a career. I attended a
college in Windsor where I studied Indian Head Massage, Swedish Body
Massage, Aromatherapy and Facials. I attained diplomas in these
therapies with Vocational Training Charitable Trust (VTCT). I then went
on to do Reiki I, II and III (Master) and finally a year’s course
in Reflexology with the International Institute of Reflexology.
I have just completed a post-graduate diploma in
'Effective Reflexology', which looks at specific illnesses/conditions and how reflexology can help
these more effectively, e.g. The Dynamics of Healing, How Reflexology
Helps
Cancer, Multiple Sclerosis, Conception, Pregnancy and Childbirth, Men's Health,
Head and Back Problems, Diabetes, and Allergies and Intolerances.
This was in eight modules which I completed in October 2006.
I am still working part time as a PA to the Principal in a local
college in Swindon and part time at home doing treatments. Being an holistic
therapist is very rewarding and enjoyable and I would eventually like to
do this full time, either from home or working in a clinic.
In the meantime I have converted a spare bedroom at home into a
treatment room. The room is very peaceful and relaxing and whilst having
a treatment you can unwind by listening to calming music of your
choice.
